Plug a seat

Cities are full of elements fixed to the floor that create barriers for citizens — especially bollards.

However, Trtm fashion a useful function for these apparently useless elements. Plug a seat’s objective is to rethink public space through simple operations by giving these elements new meanings and creating street furniture.

The project consists of a collection of pieces that fit into the street bollards transforming them into temporary seats and tables. Plug a seat encourages citizens to transform the streets into a flexible public space. The studio’s production of these elements was designed using an aluminium piece that fits perfectly into the bollard.

Additionally, the pieces come in different sizes and are available in variously coloured lacquered aluminium sheets.
